2010 New York City Metro Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS)

JSHS connects talented students, their teachers, and research professionals at affiliated symposia and rewards research excellence. This year’s New York City Metro JSHS was held at York College in Jamaica, Queens. Midwood had 2 award winners and 3 semifinalists.

2009 New York City Metro Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS)

The Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program promotes original research and experimentation in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics at the high school level and publicly recognizes students for outstanding achievement. This year’s New York City Metro JSHS was held at York College in Jamaica, Queens. Midwood had one winner this year.

2007 National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS)

The JSHS provides a forum for students to present the results of their original research in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Midwood sent one student from the NYC Metro JSHS on to the National Symposium, which was held this year in Huntsville, Alabama.

2004 New York City Metro Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS)

JSHS invites high school students to conduct an original research investigation in the sciences, engineering, or mathematics, and to participate in a regional or state symposium sponsored by universities or other academic institutions.

2003 New York City Metro Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS)

Five Midwood students were invited to present their research at the 2003 NYC Metro JSHS competition on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at the New York Academy of Science in Manhattan. These semifinalists were selected from over 340 students who entered the competition.
