Midwood Science Summer Research

Posted on Monday, June 24, 2013 by for Juniors.

Hello Juniors – soon to be seniors. Here are two notes on summer research.

If you want a summer school student MetroCard, have your mentor contact me stating the approximate hours/days/weeks you will be working. I will then add your name to a list. Ms. Ardito will be at Midwood in her office with the list and a small bundle of MetroCards July 15–17 from 8:30 AM–12:00 PM. Bring your Midwood ID. If your name’s on the list and you show your ID, you get a MetroCard. Note the expiration date when you get it.

The summer assignment for Senior Science Research is to come as close as possible to completing a research project and a research paper. We recommend following the guidelines in this slightly modified version of Warren D. Dolphin’s Writing Lab Reports and Scientific Papers. Bring the first draft of your research paper with you to the first general meeting of the fall semester (probably Monday, September 9). Everyone will write something over the summer, no matter how near or far your project is to completion. We always hit our deadlines at Midwood Science.

Have a fun and productive summer.
